Infrastructure Report Summaries: A Comprehensive Summary of Issues and Literature
This report updates a previous issue of "Infrastructure Reports: Summaries" published in January 1992. This updated edition includes additional and revised abstracts on work reflecting an interest in the Nation's infrastructure. The emphasis of the update is on the period after the publication of "Fragile Foundations" (1988) by the National Council on Public Works Improvement (NCPWI) The report consists of three components: (1 ) an analysis of current and evolving national infrastructure policies; (2 ) abstracts of approximately 100 studies; and, (3 ) an annotated bibliography of infrastructure related reports. The specific programs covered are: aviation; highways; mass transit; water resources; wastewater treatment; public water supply; solid waste management; and, hazardous waste management.

Consolidated Performance Report on the Nation's Public Works: An Update
This report further develops a framework for measuring and monitoring performance in key federal infrastructure programs. It represents an update to the work of the National Council on Public works Improvement in preparation for the issuance of "Fragile Foundations" (1988). Performance is defined, measurable aspects of performance are identified, and data on these aspects are then presented, qualitatively and quantitatively, for three infrastructure categories: transportation, water resources, and waste management. The specific programs covered are: aviation; highways; mass transit; water resources; wastewater treatment; public water supply; solid waste management; and, hazardous waste management.

Analyzing Employment Effects of Stream Restoration Investments Final Report
The quality of the Nation's natural resources has long been a concern for policy makers at all levels of government. However, the nature of this challenge and the responses chosen to meet these needs have shifted with time. Thirty years ago, key water resources problem were addressed through largely capital intensive approaches. Such infrastructure investments are typically projects requiring large amounts of equipment and personnel to construct, resulting in significant edifices that are often in conflict with environmental goals.
